# hostcd > hostcd keeps every Linux server aligned with Git — continuous drift detection, self-healing, and safe, previewed rollouts for VMs and bare metal, without Kubernetes and without any inbound connection to the managed hosts. The technical analogy is "Argo CD for plain hosts". An application points at a folder in Git and at a set of hosts (by name or label). The control plane renders that folder per host, shows drift as a diff, and applies, rolls back, or prunes on command or automatically. Each host runs a small agent that only dials out over HTTPS, so nothing listens on a managed host. Community (free, BSL 1.1) is the full core; Team adds approval gates, notifications and audit export; Enterprise adds SSO, SCIM, Postgres HA and Vault sealing. The pages below are plain Markdown, written to be read directly by an assistant helping someone operate hostcd. ## Docs - [Overview](https://hostcd.dev/guide/overview.md): what hostcd is, who it is for, how pull-based reconciliation works, and the editions. - [Install](https://hostcd.dev/guide/install.md): install the control plane and enrol hosts, verify a download with cosign, and air-gapped mirrors. - [Concepts](https://hostcd.dev/guide/concepts.md): applications, resource kinds, sync/drift/self-heal, hosts and the fleet, projects and approval gates, notifications, and audit. - [Security](https://hostcd.dev/guide/security.md): trust boundaries, control-plane auth, secrets, supply chain, and the fail-closed self-updater. - [Operations](https://hostcd.dev/guide/operations.md): upgrades, one-click self-update, backup/restore, high availability, metrics, and the shape of a typical change. ## Optional - [Full docs as one file](https://hostcd.dev/llms-full.txt): every guide page above concatenated into one Markdown document for one-shot ingestion. - [Install script](https://github.com/Inblade/hostcd-dist/releases/latest/download/install.sh): the signed installer referenced throughout the docs. - [Source repository README](https://github.com/Inblade/hostcd): project scope, stability tiers, and the reliability drill.
