Privacy Policy

hostcd is an independent project operated by Danylo Kochetov, a sole operator established in Poland, trading as "hostcd" ("we", "us"). This policy explains the limited personal data processed when you visit hostcd.dev or contact us. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to answer you and run the site.

What we collect

Contact form. If you use the form, the fields you enter are sent to us so we can reply: the reason you select, your email address, and — optionally — how many hosts you run, which features matter to you, and a free-text message. Only the email is required; the form does not ask for your name.
Email. If you write to hello@hostcd.dev or security@hostcd.dev, we receive your message and address.
Technical logs. Our hosting and network providers process standard request metadata (such as IP address and user-agent) to serve the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use cookies, analytics, advertising, or cross-site trackers on this site.

Who processes it (sub-processors)

Formspree — delivers contact-form submissions to us. (privacy policy)
GitHub (GitHub Pages) — hosts and serves this website. (privacy statement)
Cloudflare — DNS and email routing for the domain (not the website host). (privacy policy)
Google Fonts — serves the webfonts used on the site; your browser requests them from Google, which receives your IP address for that purpose. (privacy policy)

Email you send is forwarded to the maintainer's mailbox for handling your request.

Why, and on what basis

We process this data to respond to your enquiry, provide and secure the website, and — where relevant — to discuss or provide the hostcd software and licences. Where the GDPR applies, the legal bases are your consent (for optional contact), our legitimate interest in operating a secure site, and taking steps at your request prior to any agreement.

Retention

We keep what you send only to reply to and help with your request; once that is handled we delete it, and you can ask us to remove it at any time.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, or to stop contacting you. Email hello@hostcd.dev. We do not sell personal data.

Changes

We may update this policy; the "last updated" date above will change. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
